Director of Design Marc Kurlander, Modern Luxury Furnishings, LINK

Director of Design
Marc Kurlander

Marc Kurlander is an award winning furniture designer for both residential and commercial projects. Since receiving his BFA in Industrial Design from Columbia College Chicago, Marc has been active in the fields of furniture, interior, and industrial design while contributing to the theory and philosophy that drive these vocations. For several years, Marc has partnered with numerous Chicago-based design studios working closely with partners and manufacturers to maintain project integrity as design concepts move through each stage to completion. Marc believes that the objects we choose to have in our lives tell a story and reveal our personal identities, how we live and who we are. Determining the aesthetic of objects around us, and what inspires us, helps in the strategic design decisions that enhance quality of life. The objects he designs strive to articulate function and intent through honest form and spatial awareness. You see this most strikingly in Link Outdoors FLUX collection where a thoroughly modern aesthetic is distinctly visible. Marc serves as Link Outdoors Director of Design and Product Development.

She helped build their line into a successful performance fabric collection. ‘I felt an affinity with Link and the next step in my career felt like a natural one by joining the Link team as their Design Director of Soft Goods.
